Exploring Arizona

It takes a while to get out of Texas but it is a very relaxing and easy drive. Our next destination is Arizona but its more than a day,s drive so we spent a night in Las Cruces, New Mexico to break it up. The sky in New Mexico is so full of color! We visited a dog park, a brewery, toured the old downtown and then ended the night at a winery that had great pizza. At the Spotted Dog Brewery we had the best fried green beans with chipotle dipping sauce eva! At each place we stop we always meet locals with great recommendations and that’s how we figure out where to go. People are so friendly to vagabonds!!

The next morning we head to Arizona to the Cummins shop for the LoveBus to have a checkup. She ended up needing just general maintenance. Thank goodness! We did have to spend 3 nights at the shop while the work was being done. That really is a nice offering they include!

Due to our stay at Cummins, we missed our reservation check in date and they couldn’t hold our site so we had to make other arrangements… Our dear friends Jim and Jeanine offered up their beautiful desert property as an option! They were such life savers and the reason we stopped in Arizona in the first place!

We took some gorgeous desert hikes right from their property. The pups weren’t used to the desert sand, stickers, and cactus needles at all!

Jim just bought a new toy hauler and went deep into the desert to meet some friends so we drove out in the jeep to meet him for the day and I captured some great shots!

Jeffs Birthday is February 9 so we partied with the best and celebrated this awesome man I get to call my husband!

Jeff and I took a day to check out the Goldfield Ghost Town. The town is still in tact with so much original character. We checked out all the old stores and made our last stop at the Saloon. The old bartender Dan challenged Jeff to a game of chess in trade for beers. Jeff accepted and they ended up playing two games while I met some of the locals. I think the bartender beat my husband but he still bought us one round of beers. It was a great time!

Over the weekend we took a drive with the pups to Sedona to do some hiking! So glad we did! Jeff told me we were taking an out and back trail that totaled 3 miles…8 miles later we definitely saw some amazing scenery and felt like we hiked longer than we thought and we were right! Afterwards we stopped and had a nice meal before we headed back to Mesa. On our drive back we saw hot air balloons in the sky! That was an unexpected treat!

We took a drive out to Tortilla Flats and loved it so much we went back and got the LoveBus to camp for a few days. Me and the pups did some awesome hikes in the area and took in some remarkable views.

We finished this trip with a Bloody Mary Festival with Jeanine and friends! Bloody Marys, Mimosas, Music, and Food Trucks! Do you think we had fun? You’re right!
