Memphis, Tennesse
Driving over the Mississippi into Tennessee we got a great view of the city!
Into the forest we go! Meeman-Shelby Forest that is. Sooooo many trees…This is our forest for a week! Halt! The internet connection is extremely weak so Jeff needs a strategy stat! Of course he has one, he always does! He worked some magic and its up and running. Ok back to our love of the forest…The first night we had Jeffs friend Andy who is a local here, over for a cookout.
We hiked this beautiful forest every day and some evenings too! The dogs loved it. So many streams and creeks line the forest floor for the pups to have a drink and so many different types of colorful birds were all around us singing their beautiful song.
The Friday before we left Jeff took a half a day off work so we could head into the city of Memphis. We hung out on Beale Street, where we heard some soulful blues music and had a delicious Philly cheesesteak sandwich.
We left Beale St and ventured over to the Crosstown Brewery Co. recommended by our friend Andy. The beer was delicious and by now you know we love our craft beer especially IPA’s! Yum! Before heading back to camp we stopped at a cajun restaurant downtown to grub down.
This was another fun day! Headed to Tupelo, Mississippi tomorrow!
