Stone Mountain, Georgia
It was good to get to Georgia with the anticipation of seeing my son Alex and his girlfriend Megan and my twin cousins Kara and Shawn on their birthday, despite the fact that our shower door fell off going over some huge pot holes on the way. Nothing a little caulk and screws can’t fix when we get a chance. In the meantime most campsites have public showers so we will make it work.
The first night we got to Stone Mountain Alex and Megan came out to camp, cook out, tell stories, swim and hike with us. We all had SO MUCH FUN!
The next night we went into Georgia to see my cousins Shawn and Kara for their birthday. It was such a delightful evening visiting with all their children and Shawns husband David. They have some talented, artistic, musical kiddos who serenaded us with some cool cover tunes.
Wednesday night we were invited to Jeffs coworker Tim Anderson’s house for dinner. What a treat that was! They served us steak, red snapper, mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and a blackberry desert. His wife Chantal can cook!! It was such a pleasure meeting their children and mother as well. We hope to visit these friends again in the future. Thursday evening we got a tour of Athens, Georgia from my son Alex and his sweet girlfriend Meg. They took us to dinner at a cool Mexican dive where the pups accompanied us on the patio. Then we went to Creature Comforts brewery where we tasted some good brews. Love these two sweet people! It was such a pleasure getting to spend time with them.
Friday the dogs and I did a little hiking around Stone Mountain and then we had a chill night at camp cooking out and packing up to head to Hilton Head South Carolina.
