Virginia’s For Lovers

As we entered Virginia the state line sign reads “Virginia Is For Lovers” and the Love Bus has arrived! Jeff was raised on a tobacco farm in a small town called Dundas, population 384. The town is covered in farmland surrounded by thick, lush, very tall trees. You know you’re close when all you see are hay stacks, churches, and crops full of tobacco or soy beans.

Its been such a treat to spend time with family! The Hankley’s have a lake house on Buggs Island Lake where we spent most of our time hiking, boating and fishing. We were lucky enough to spot a black bear walking in the woods! On a few of my morning bike rides I had bunny rabbits following along side me. The birds are always singing and at night the pups found things to howl at… not sure what… The sunsets on the lake were magnificent!

One evening we met Betty Sue and a big group of her friends after they got off work in South Hill at a little restaurant/bar called Kahill’s. We got to experience fun with the locals! On Sunday we took a drive out to Rosemont Winery for a relaxing afternoon sipping wine. On this trip it was wonderful to spend time with Jeff’s Mom, Betty Sue, brother ,Scott and sister-n-law Stephanie as well as with their children Timmy, Hannah, and John.

  1. So enjoyed having you in Southside Virginia for your visit. I love the life you have established for yourselves; the love and adventures you share and the wonderful memories you are creating for yourselves and sharing with your families and friends. Continue on your journey and live large, enjoying each other and this wonderful world our God created. Love to you both and of course, Gypsy and Oliver❤❤❤❤
    Love,
