Oh the cool mountain breeze, temps just 70 degrees, we think this might be the place to be in July! It was a very scenic mountain drive to get to our camp in Woodford, VT right outside the town of Bennington. The Love Bus got a little heated coming up that last mountain but she made it thank goodness! We are situated in the Green Mountain Forest and oh they are green! The mountains are covered in a variety of pine and maple trees and the lower forest floor is layered in fern and wildflowers with ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams throughout. Our camp is called Greenwood Lodge and Campsites. The owners Ed and Ann are very welcoming, as you check in at their house they offer you books to read or check out and they gave us brochures on the area and said we could use their canoes if we’d like to paddle around one of the lakes on the property . The Love Bus parked right on top of a mountain overlooking a lake. This sure feels like home! There were lots of beautiful trails up mountains and through the wood on the property that we hiked with the dogs. There was even an area where the pups could play and swim off leash!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
